The Leak Down Tester is used to test the leakage past the valves and piston rings and helps determine when an engine may need to be freshened up. The leak down adapter threads into the spark plug hole. The pressure reducing valve and pressure gauge from the Spring Tester is connected to the adapter by use of the Quick Connect Option Kit.

The Valve Tester is used to test for leaks between the valve face and valve seat, or between the valve seat and the block. The tester is ideal for use after a leak down test indicates excessive leakage past the valves, or during engine rebuilds. The Valve Tester is bolted over the intake and exhaust ports. The pressure-reducing valve and pressure gauge from the Spring Tester is connected to the tester by use of the Quick Connect Option Kit.

The Quick Connect Option Kit is used to allow easy use of the pressure reducing valve and pressure gauge from the Spring Tester unto other RMS testers. With the kit installed, a quick connect socket is attached to the pressure reducing valve outlet piping, and a quick connect plug installed in the pneumatic cylinder inlet. Tools such as the Leak Down Tester and the Valve Tester are fitted with quick connect plugs and can attach easily to the pressure reducing valve and pressure gauge.
